Classic still life

Classic still life in its original execution by great masters is a style full of hints, symbols, signs and hidden meanings. I do not pretend to be so deep in content, but the visual style itself, the dramatic chiaroscuro and the nature of the objects involved are awe-inspiring and philosophical. This non-modern, archaic genre, it seems to me, belongs to those "eternal" styles that may temporarily give way to fashion trends, but will survive them all, as a slow, wise turtle survives fussy, loudly chirping sparrows.
